GIS
Epsilon Italia applies the Geographic Information standards (OGC, ISO/TC 211, CEN/TC 287) and uses proprietary and open source sw platforms to:
- Design, realise and update GIS (Geographic Information System) for the territorial control, the environmental monitoring and the management of natural and anthropogenic resources
- Customise GIS developing custom commands/toolbars and integrating even complex workflows
- Develop WEBGIS applications
We develop SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructures) compliant to the INSPIRE Directive
Among our main clients:
MIT (Italian Ministry of the Infrastructure and Transports) – support in the design and development of a GIS for the propagation of the flood-wave for Tevere and Adige river basins.
PROVINCE of COSENZA: Design and realisation of the WEBGIS of the Planning Department
ARPACAL (Regional Agency for the Environmental Protection of Regione Calabria): design and development of a GIS for the control of NIR (Non Ionizing Radiation) at high and low frequency on the Calabrian territory
CIVIL PROTECTION of the Calabria Region.: Design and realisation of a WEBGIS application relevant to hydrogeological models and real-time and historical meteorological data.
Projects
Indoor/outdoor location and asset management through open geodata”, cofunded by DG CONNECT of the European Commission within the ICT-PSP (Policy Support Programme), coordinated by Trilogis. The project creates a virtual hub for indoor open geographical data regarding public spaces (hospitals, public offices, shopping malls, museums etc) and an easy-to-integrate open middleware for indoor/outdoor tracking and management. The technology is validated in 14 pilot locations across Europe focusing on e-Health scenarios (e.g. hospitals, retirement houses) and other public services (e.g. museum, public offices etc.). Epsilon Italia is responsible for the exploitation of the whole project results toward the private sector and SMEs in particular and for the establishment of liaisons with similar projects/initiatives. 3D Smart Webservices for Mediterranean Islands”, co-funded by DG Information Society and Media of European Commission in the frame of the ICT-PSP (Policy Support Programme), coordinated by Epsilon International SA. Epsilon Italia is responsible for the definition of the requirements of the technological platform and for the development and test of the applications in Italy.
“Enhancement of SIPITEC2 (Geoportal of the Planning Department of the Province of Cosenza)”, consisted in the creation of a data model for the PSC/PSA (Structural and Associated Municipality Plans) in conformity to the Regional Urban Law and related Guidelines and in the development of a procedure for the on-line editing of the PSC/PSA based on the use of the OGC WFS-T protocol. Visit website: SIPITEC2.
Mediterranean Islands 3D Aerial Navigation”, co-funded by DG Information Society and Media of European Commission in the frame of the econtentplus Programme and coordinated by Epsilon International SA. Epsilon Italia has been responsible for the design and development of an SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure) for the Mediterranean Islands, with focus on the harmonization of the different spatial datasets, on the development of the geodatabase, of the metadata catalogue and of the network services.
design and development of a custom webgis-based sw platform supporting the forest fire management, based on the integration of multi-source real-time and off-line data and of physical-mathematical models for the prevention, prevision, management of the emergencies, impact assessment. The integration has been carried out in ESRI environment and the development in .NET environment. The project has been commissioned by Epsilon International S.A.
“GALILEO KtPAE/GR_EPSILON IntSA”, a technology transfer project commissioned by Epsilon International S.A. for the design and development of a webgis platform for vessels near-real time position tracking and marine touristic geospatial information, based on the use of mashup technologies between ESRI ArcGIS Server and Google Maps API and on the use of Globalstar-Elsacom data and technologies.
Design and realisation of the GIS of the Municipality of Rogliano (CS).
“Remote Sensing Thematic Laboratory for marine applications”, financed by Calpark (Scientific and Technological Park of Calabria) and MIUR (Italian Ministry of University and Research).
Design and realisation of a WEBGIS for the management of the water networks, committed by a calabrian inter-municipality consortium.
